“To be a Catholic is my greatest glory.”

St Edmund Campion SJ (1540-1581)to be a catholic is my greatest glory - st edmund campion 1 dec 2018

“The Gospel shows me,
that the first commandment is to love God,
with all my heart
and that it is necessary to do everything,
solely out of love.
Everyone knows,
that the first result of love,
is imitation.”

“Everything about us, all that we are,
should ‘proclaim the Gospel from the housetops’.
All that we do and our whole lives,
should be an example,
of what the Gospel way of life means in practice
and should make it unmistakably clear,
that we belong to Jesus.
Our entire being should be a living witness,
a reflection of Jesus.”the gospel shows me - everything about us-bl charles de foucauld - 1 dec 2018

“It is JESUS in this situation.”it is JESUS in this situation - bl charles de foucauld - 1 dec 2018

“I would like to be sufficiently good,
that people would say,
‘If such is the servant,
what must the Master be like?’”

Blessed Charles of Jesus/Charles de Foucauld (1858-1916)i would like to be - bl charles de foucauld - 1 dec 2018

O Sweet Name of Jesus
By Thomas à Kempis (1380-1471)

O sweet Name of Jesus,
holy above all names
in heaven and on earth
and to which every knee,
both of men
and of angels in heaven,
on earth and in hell, bends.
You are the Way of the just,
the Glory of the saints,
the Hope of those in need,
the Balm of the sick,
the Love of the devout
and the Consolation
of those that suffer.
O, Jesus be to me a help
and a protector
so that Your Name
may be blessed for all times.
Amen

“Are you troubled?
Think but of Jesus,
speak but the name of Jesus,
the clouds disperse
and peace descends anew from heaven.
Have you fallen into sin?
So that you fear death?
..invoke the name of Jesus
and you will soon feel life returning.
No obduracy of the soul, no weakness,
no coldness of heart can resist this holy name –
there is no heart which will not soften
and open in tears at this holy name.”are you troubled - st bernard - 20 aug 2018

they live together in one house on equal terms.
Martha and Mary are sisters.”action and contemplation - st bernard - 20 aug 2018

“Let us not imagine that we obscure
the glory of the Son by the great praise
we lavish on the Mother –
for the more she is honoured,
the greater is the glory of her Son.
There can be no doubt that whatever we say

Our Morning Offering – 12 January – Month of the Holy Name of Jesus

The Golden Arrow

May the most holy,
most sacred,
most adorable,
most mysterious
and unutterable Name of God
be always praised,
blessed,
loved,
adored
and glorified in heaven.
on earth and under the earth,
by all the creatures of God
and by the Sacred Heart
of our Lord Jesus Christ
in the most Holy Sacrament
of the altar.
Amen

This prayer is said to have been revealed by Jesus Himself to a Carmelite Nun of Tours in 1843 as a reparation for blasphemy.   “This Golden Arrow will wound My Heart delightfully,”  He said  “and heal the wounds inflicted by blasphemy.”the golden arrow prayer - 12 jan 2018

One Minute Reflection – 10 January – The Month of the Most Holy Name

And whatever you ask in my name, I will do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.   If you ask anything of me in my name, I will do it…John 14:13-14john 14 - 13-14 - 10 jan 2018

REFLECTION – The Holy Name of Jesus is, first of all, an all-powerful prayer.   Our Lord Himself solemnly promises, that whatever we ask the Father in His Name, we shall receive.   God never fails to keep His word.   Each time we say “Jesus,” it is an act of perfect love, for, we offer to God, the infinite love of Jesus………….St Alphonsus Liguori (1696-1787) Doctor of the Churchthe holy name of jesus is first of all - st al[honsus - 10 jan 2018

PRAYER – Lord God, grant me the courage to confess my faith in the Name above all names and proclaim each moment the Holy Name of Your Son, thus giving You honour and glory.   Jesus Name above all Names, be my standard and my beacon! Amenname above all names - 10 jan 2018
